What's the difference between the two?
First, in terms of raw materials and binders.
Wear-resistant castable is mainly made of brown corundum, silicon carbide, homogenized bauxite and other raw materials with high strength and strong resistance to wear as refractory aggregate and powder. In the selection of bonding agent, wear-resistant castable chooses cement bonding. At the same time, chemical admixtures are added to obtain higher wear resistance.
Although the main raw material of wear-resistant plastics is also corundum, silicon carbide and other high-strength, high-hardness refractory raw materials, but it is also necessary to add strong bonding refractory clay. In the choice of bonding agent, wear-resistant plastics can choose phosphate bonding.
Second, the construction methods of the two materials are also very different.
Before construction, pour the wear-resistant castable and the binder in the bag into the forced mixer and stir with water. During the construction process, it is necessary to set the template, lay the supporting parts such as anchoring nails and anchoring bricks. Casting construction, and vibration compaction, and other materials solidified, remove the template, drying maintenance.
When wear-resistant plastic is constructed, it is necessary to trap material (some manufacturers produce new wear-resistant plastic, which can be stirred on site). Because the plastic has a certain plasticity, depending on the construction body, it is not necessary to support the template, and the tortoise shell net, anchoring nails, anchoring bricks and so on are used as supporting parts. Put the material into the pore of the support piece and pound it tightly. It is worth noting that the wear-resistant plastic can not be in contact with water during the construction process, and it is also necessary to do a good job of waterproof construction body.
Third, the two materials are far apart in terms of price. In terms of materials with brown corundum as the main matrix:

The price of wear-resistant plastic is more expensive per ton than castable.
