Ladle Shroud

Types of CCM Refractories

Ladle Shroud
The ladle shroud (or protection pipe) is used between the ladle and the tundish to protect the molten steel from secondary oxidation and prevent the steel flow from splashing. There are long spouts that can be used without baking, which are called emergency backup spouts.

Monolithic Stopper
Monolithic Stopper is installed in the Tundish above the Sub Entry Nozzle and the gap between stopper head and Nozzle decide the throughput requirement of Molten Steel inside the Mould.

Sub Entry Nozzle
The sub entry nozzle is an important passage connecting the tundish and the crystallizer. It is called the choke point of continuous casting. It plays a connecting role and is an important part of the clean steel smelting process.

Properties of CCM Refractories

01/

High Thermal Stability
CCM balls exhibit excellent thermal stability, maintaining their integrity and performance even at extreme temperatures. This property makes them suitable for use in high-temperature applications such as steelmaking and glass production.

02/

Chemical Resistance
The high purity of caustic calcined magnesite balls provides superior resistance to corrosive chemicals and slags. This resistance helps to protect equipment and prolong the lifespan of refractory linings.

03/

Low Thermal Expansion
CCM balls have minimal thermal expansion, reducing the risk of cracking or spalling under thermal stress. This characteristic is crucial for maintaining the structural integrity of refractory linings in demanding conditions.

04/

High Purity
The high purity of CCM balls ensures that they contribute minimal impurities to the molten metal or other materials they come into contact with. This purity is essential for maintaining the quality of the final product and avoiding contamination.

FAQ

Q: How does the purity of CCM affect the quality of refractories?

A: Higher purity CCM generally leads to better - quality refractories. A purer CCM means fewer impurities, which can enhance the refractory's performance in several ways.

Q: What is CCM in refractories and how is it produced?

A: CCM stands for Caustic Calcined Magnesia. It is a highly reactive form of magnesium oxide. CCM is produced by calcining crude magnesite, brucite, or magnesium hydroxide extracted from brine at temperatures between 600 °C - 1000 °C. This process results in a material with unique properties that make it suitable for various applications in refractory products.

Q: Can CCM refractories be customized for specific industrial needs?

A: Yes, CCM refractories can be customized.

Q: What is MOQ of your product?

A: Generally the MOQ is 2 tons. If the fire bricks shape is complicated and needed in small quantity, whose quantity and size can be customized.

Q: How can you guarantee your products quality

A: We can supply products SGS testing report. Welcome third party factory inspection as well.
