AZS Block
Zhengzhou Caihua Kiln Masonry Installation Co.,Ltd. is professional manufacturer of fire bricks, Mortar, Pre-cast, Pre shape, Insulation products, Castable, Functional Products for Iron & Steel, Cement, Glass, Power & Petrochemical Industries. AZS block is also called fused zirconia corundum brick which contains Al2O3-ZrO2-SiO2. The fused cast AZS block is made of pure alumina powder and zircon sand (consisting of 65% zirconia and 34% SiO2). After the alumina powder and zircon sand are melted in an electric furnace, they are cast into various molds and cooled down to become white solids.

Characteristic of AZS Block
Excellent Corrosion Resistance
Fused cast AZS blocks are highly resistant to attack from molten glass, which can contain corrosive alkali and alkali-earth compounds.
High Refractoriness
These blocks can withstand extremely high temperatures, making them suitable for use in glass melting furnaces where temperatures often exceed 1,600°C (2,912°F).
Low Porosity
Fused cast AZS blocks have low porosity, which minimizes the penetration of glass and enhances their long-term performance.
Thermal Shock Resistance
The blocks exhibit good thermal shock resistance, reducing the risk of cracking when exposed to rapid temperature changes.
Longevity
Fused cast AZS blocks can have a longer service life compared to other refractory materials, making them cost-effective in the long run.
Requirements for Using AZS Block
Regular Inspections
Conducting regular inspections helps identify any signs of wear and tear early on, allowing for timely repairs or replacements.
Proper Installation
Ensuring that Fused Cast AZS blocks are installed correctly is crucial for maximizing their lifespan. Misalignment can lead to uneven wear and reduce effectiveness.
Avoiding Sudden Temperature Changes
Preventing rapid temperature changes can help maintain the integrity of the blocks. Gradual heating and cooling can minimize thermal shock risks.
Application Industries of AZS Block
Glass Manufacturing: Sintered AZS blocks are extensively used in the glass industry, particularly in the construction of glass melting furnaces, regenerators, ports, checker bricks, and throat walls. The blocks have high resistance to thermal shock, corrosion, and erosion, making them ideal for containing and shaping molten glass.
Steel Industry: Sintered AZS blocks are also employed in the steel industry for applications such as steel ladle linings and tundish linings. They can withstand high temperatures and chemical reactions that occur during steel production, providing excellent resistance to corrosion and erosion.
Non-Ferrous Metal Industry: Sintered AZS blocks find application in the non-ferrous metal industry, specifically in the construction of smelting furnaces and crucibles for melting and refining materials like aluminum, copper, and zinc. The blocks' high refractoriness and resistance to chemical attack are advantageous in these environments.
Cement Industry: Sintered AZS blocks are used in the cement industry for lining kilns, preheaters, and cyclones. They provide superior resistance to alkali attacks and thermal stresses, ensuring prolonged service life in the harsh conditions of cement manufacturing.
Waste Incineration: Sintered AZS blocks are utilized in waste incineration plants for lining furnaces and other areas exposed to high temperatures and aggressive chemical environments. Their excellent resistance to thermal shock and chemical attack contributes to the durability and efficiency of waste treatment processes.
